ABOUT FLOREANA
I'm a sommelier with a passion for regenerative agriculture and education.

I've worked in restaurants and hospitality for over fifteen years, and in wine for seven years. I have worked as a wine educator, wine writer, restaurant manager, wine sales representative, wine buyer, farm hand, cellar hand, and winemaker. I have had the pleasure to serve wine in some of Los Angeles' top rated restaurants, such as Angler, Church & State Bistro, Spring, and Redbird. I've written about wine for SlowWine and served on the Wine & Spirits Magazine tasting panel. See my experience on LinkedIn.

As a wine professional, I feel that I have a responsibility to advocate for healthy agricultural practices, and to empower consumers to find sustainable and healthy products. Learning and teaching have been some of my richest experiences in the wine industry, and I love sharing this with others.

I believe that grape and wine production should use sustainable, organic, and biodynamic practices. To me, that looks like protecting biodiversity, restoring native habitats, eliminating synthetic chemical inputs, stopping pollution, and respecting the communities surrounding the farm.

As agricultural stewards of the land, we also must recognize and include the history and cultures of the indigenous people whose lands we are occupying. We need to include, collaborate, and partner with BIPOC, women and LGBTQIA+ communities.

I speak English and Spanish.
